I've had the privilege of taking a college course from Mr. Rypkema in which I used the material from his book. This book is probably the most concise, easy to use workbook on the subject of determining if it is economically feasible to rehab an older building. It takes you step by step through each phase of a feasibility assessment. Although it's meant to be used by a group of people, one person could do all the work (although it would certainly take longer). Too many uninformed decisions are made on whether or not an historical building can be saved. Anyone interested in saving historic buildings should have this book handy and understand the real estate economics that make buildings valuable to investors.
