TAGGED THE APOCALYPSE edition by Joseph M Chiron Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Just finished reading. This is a great book! If you like thriller, zombie horror, end-time scenarios this book is for you. Author has given a profound overview of how the end of the world will happen. Brace yourself! That is going to be horrible! Book is well written and plot is so twisted and intriguing that you won't be able to put this story down.
What happened when man tried to play God and messed with genes? A revolutionary anti-aging serum that worked by turning on and off various age-related genes had a sinister after effect - the recipients became zombies, the walking dead that preys on human flesh. Mr. Chiron had done a great job in painting a vivid picture of end-time apocalypse (inspired from the Bible) and how a band of survivors banded together in a abandoned nuclear plant for survival. Full of unique twists and surprises - you won't be able to put this book down one you've started reading.
Joseph Chiron's "Tagged The Apocalypse" pulls no punches. Diving almost directly into the action, this rapid fire story will keep you turning pages as the author takes you from one terrifying action sequence to another.
Chiron does a great job exploring a world that is familiar, yet so very different, than our own after a mystery disease begins to turn normal people into monsters. Fans of movies like "28 Days Later" and "The Island" and video games like "Left 4 Dead" and "Killing Floor" will enjoy this work of apocalyptic survivalist fiction!
If widespread calamity strikes, will humans band together heroically or fall victim to their basest instincts? In Tagged, civilization rapidly unravels in the quest for survival. A virus resulting from a successful anti-aging treatment converts millions to a vicious, zombie state. The undead move in coordinated flows like the locust plague of the bible. The survivors are not heroic.
Alliances are formed and broken as they rely on old skills to barter in the new environment. It's a bit difficult to identify with the main characters, since each is flawed. Most women are reduced to sex slaves under the control of a Madam. There is graphic sex and this book is not for those under 18. The action is fast paced and the plot provides unexpected twists.
Tagged is an Epic story that gives you the chills.. of a modern day scenario. The story seems extremely relevant like the American dystopian science fiction action thriller film "In Time" starring Justin Timberlake. But in this story, no one may buy or sell without the new chip implanted beneath the skin.
Without giving too much away, the center-piece of this story are the new breed of zombies with teeth like lions and sharp claws. They hunt in overwhelmingly large packs like a plague of locusts.
You have gotta' this compelling new look at the apocalypse! period
Tagged The apocalypse by Joseph Chiron is a very unusual and different book. It combines the best sci-fi with important lessons about life, government and Christianity.
As the title suggests, it is an apocalyptic book, full of zombies. But in this book they are different. They have a special meaning. The same applies to the main characters. This book rises many questions what would happen if we were left us alone? What is the true function of a government?
Chiron suggests very interesting answers. Each chapter has a special meaning, but they are also linked together with a great and compelling plot.
I would recommend it to every reader looking for a different and innovative book.
4 1/2 Stars
Tagged is the first zombie book I read, and I found after reading it that I didn't dislike the genre. (I always thought I would.) Actually I very much liked this book. The premise was different - original. Chiron is quite clever in combining an apocalyptic tale with Armageddon in a dystopian setting. I enjoyed his interpretation and weaving into the story the Book of Revelation, including the mark of the beast. I always found the Book interesting and Chiron didn't disappoint in recreating the captivating elements of the prophecy. The mysteries of Revelation come alive in Tagged, even though I wouldn't classify it as a religious or Christian book. (Remember there are flesh-eating zombies involved). The many characters were distinct and realistic, and Chiron's descriptions were vivid and well-written. However, at times I found it hard to follow who was saying what and where characters were located, but that didn't distract from my enjoyment of the book.
Tagged is a quick, fascinating story with enough excitement for you to get lost in, and to keep you turning the page. It's set-up as a stand-alone, but the book is so intriguing that it would make any reader want to know more about what happens. Maybe there'll be a sequel. If it were, I would certainly read it.
Good book. I'd recommend it to anyone.
